experimenting with altmetrics

In his keynote at the Accelerated Academy, Roger Burrows reflected that his paper Living with the H-Index was ironically amongst his highest ranked papers. He remarked how altmetrics scores have increased recursively through his remarks upon the paper in public, growing as people subsequently blogged and tweeted about it. To this end, I’ve just tweeted the link from a number of Twitter feeds (@thesocreview, @soc_imagination, @digitalsocsci and @accelerateduni) and this is a blog post to add to the mix. How long will it take Alt Metrics to recognise this? At the start of the talk, the paper had an Alt Metrics score of 64, based on 2 blogs and 62 tweeters. At the time of writing, we’re 15 minutes in.
